In 2011, Teflon Disks were replaced with Hycar Disks in all VAV valve assemblies. The Teflon Disks were kept in the High Temperature Repair Kits at that time. A change is underway to fully obsolete the Teflon Disks and replace with Hycar Disks once current inventory is exhausted. This change does not affect the form, fit, or function of the parts and the temperature rating remains unchanged.… Read article...
Shaft Guides for 2” and 3” metal valves (V425, VAV5, V426, VAV6, V427, and VAV7) are being updated to use a new investment cast design. The fit, and function of the parts will remain unaffected and the new Shaft Guides will be fully interchangeable with the old.

This new design incorporates the shaft and disk holder into a single piece eliminating one potential leak point within the valve.
