Insertion-style paddlewheel flowmeters with remote output are used to measure the flow rate of water and water-based liquids in a system. These meters feature sensors that extend perpendicularly into a section of piping and are typically designed for installation on active lines. The remote output function transmits signals to alarms, indicator lights, or programmable logic controllers (PLCs), providing alerts when flow begins or stops.
